Nominee's Bio: Hiqmat Sungdeme Saani is a youth activist, Social Entrepreneur, mentor and a Graphic Designer. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Saani Mahama on the 14th Day of October, 2001 in Wa,Upper West Region of Ghana. She attended Mangu Methodist School where she had her primary and Junior High School education, and proceeded to St. Francis Girls’ Senior High School, where she was supported by MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Camfed Ghana, and graduated in 2018 with a WASSCE Certificate in General Science. Hiqmat is born into a polygamous family with 6 biological siblings and 6 non- biological siblings. She is the first of 13 children to have completed Secondary school successfully and proceeded to the University. She is currently a third year student of the University Of Ghana Biological Sciences School, where she is again supported by the MasterCard Foundation Scholars Program at Camfed Ghana. She has a fierce tenacity to youth economic empowerment, leadership, and community development. Hiqmat believes in the potential of Africa’s youth to catalyse economic freedom for the continent. With this vision, she established Hiquie Sung Joy Network in 2019 as an incorporated non-profit organisation whilst a level 100 student at the University. The purpose of Hiquie Sung Joy Network is to invest in and develop African youth into transformative leaders and entrepreneurs through innovation, mentorship, and technology. Hiquie Sung Joy Network is avidly supporting youth entrepreneurs to create jobs, reduce unemployment, and eliminate poverty within the African continent. As Founder and Executive Director, Hiqmat has led Hiquie Sung Joy Network to empower over 2,000 youths in leadership and entrepreneurship, as well as provided entrepreneurship training to eight (8) young women entrepreneurs in the Upper West Region (the poorest and most unequal region in Ghana) where the Organization is currently operating.She is currently seeking for a seed funding support to launch her Fish Production and Processing Initiative to reduce poverty and unemployment in her country, Ghana. Hiqmat has held several leadership positions as a student at the University, Senior High School and Junior High School levels. Hiqmat aspires to be a Software Developer, Human Rights Lawyer, Herbal Doctor, and Humanitarian.
